Aladdin Reflection

During my Dramatic Arts class, Caitlyn and I performed A Whole New World from the disney musical Aladdin. I played the role of Jasmine and Caitlyn as Aladdin. We choreographed the entire dance, except for the ending. I think that we did a great job choreographing it. Some of my favorite parts of it was probably when we went onto the stairs because it was a lot of fun to dance on. Another part that was  my favorite was right after I had gone down the step and we did a small dance. I think that that part went really well with the music and was well choreographed. At the end of the aladdin piece, to make it our own we added I wanna Dance with Somebody into the performance. I think that it was a fun spin on the dance.I think that I grew a lot while choreographing this dance both as a performer and learning theater. In the beginning of the project. I think that we had this very classic idea. In  the middle we decided to change it up. I think that it added more depth into our ...

Footloose Reflection

Last Friday I went to see the Cheshire Academy production of Footloose. I thought that the overall production of Footloose was very good.  My favorite part would probably be in the beginning when they performed the opening scene. I think that the choreography was amazing. The characters were cast into perfect roles, but I felt like sometimes people wouldn't talk loud enough or too fast and I couldn't understand them. I think that the costumes were very good, and that it fit really well with the characters and their personalities. When Livvy had her black shirt on and then tied it up more was a really good touch, it really felt like she was a teenager who's sneaking out and breaking all of her fathers strict rules. The usage of the stage was really good as well, though I wish that the stage was built out. It felt like that same scene each time. In the next production maybe add more props to make the scenes different and more 3D. The drummer was very...

Aladdin

We are going to do costuming, set design, makeup, choreography, and lighting all to A Whole New World. We will adapt the scene so it's doable, but for the most part we are going to stay to the original as much as we can. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1shnH1uc4PrfAyQqIVGOw_58P6t0IsqFlZMGQUYcs4Uo/edit

First Personal monologue reflection

I think that I could have done better at blocking. I felt like that whenever I was trying to say my monologue it never felt natural because of the setting. When I tried it on the bed, I felt like I could not move as much, there was nothing going on, and I felt like the camera on my phone couldn’t see me. When I tried it sitting, I felt more natural, but at the same time I couldn’t picture myself doing this anywhere. When I try to act, I have to picture myself doing whatever it is, in real life. During this monologue I felt as though I could not do that. Which led to me not really knowing when to stand or sit and thus making me doing it differently every time. In my first monologue I was still trying to get a feel for talking alone on stage. I think that I improved on facial expressions and memorization. In the first monologue I felt as though nothing really “fit” for me. Meaning that as much as I tried I kind of felt like I was spitting words off of a piece of paper. For me acting is a...
